Battle Ground, WA is a suburb of Vancouver, Washington. I think it is a good place to live for those who want a lower cost of living compared to living in a city. There are about 17,500 people living in Battleground as of the 2010 census and it is presently ranked as the fourth in the state in regards to population growth.
I don't think there is actually a whole lot happening in Battle Ground itself, although it is one of the best areas around Vancouver due to a reasonable retail scene and good restaurants. Grocery shopping is mostly limited to Fred Meyer, Albertsons, and Safeway. Some of the most popular places in town to get lunch are Pasta Gigi's and Pita House.
The best part about Battle Ground is that it is located just 16 miles from Vancouver which is where most people work. The commute into Vancouver isn't too bad and rent is pretty inexpensive for western Washington. The average one bedroom apartment costs $850 a month while a two bedroom runs $1125.
