Churches are all they have and if you don't go to theirs, you're out. User Rating 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 06, 2022) If you're not a serious church goer you prob won't like it here. Not much to do. It is growing but only adding a restaurant/fast food joint here & there and an occasional store. No activities, no nightlife. Most of the people here are what I refer to as outwardly friendly but ver ...Read More y clickish, because they have all their social circle and don't want new people and are not very inviting or welcoming to newcomers. Being from New Orleans, it is very odd to me that people are so stand off-ish. I've lived in Guntersville, Arab & now Albertville for the last decade or so and have certainly tried to make friends and have a lot of acquaintances but have never once been invited to something as simple as a party, cookout, shower, luncheon or honestly church, which is almost funny because although I'm not a churchgoer, I've never been asked in a county where they have more churches per capita than most places have restaurants! In fact, I would bet they're about the same number of both! The biggest attraction for the area is Lake Guntersville which is scenic, but I understand pretty polluted. Love the walking trail around the lake. The state park is also pretty. We routinely go to Gadsden/ Attalla area for shopping and a great flea market or up to Huntsville which has everything you could ask for and more. If you are considering moving here and can afford it, spend the extra money and head to Huntsville because there is excellent health care, nightlife, shopping, dining, etc. Read Less

We're used to bars, bakeries, butchers, summer festivals (with a real beer tent), nightlife. This town has none of that, my neighbors are nice, but their neve ...Read More r outside. We did find a descent butcher in Arab (Arab Meat Market), but other than that nothing to do here unless you want to go to Huntsville. Read Less
