Typically, when people think of New Mexico they only think about the desert and that everything is desolate, which in parts it is, but there is also great beauty that comes out of it also. I lived in Alamogordo, New Mexico for two years and let me tell you; you can soak up about a lifetime worth of Vitamin D in two years. If you are a fan of a very dry climate and ordering lotion in bulk, Alamogordo is for you. Also, for those who don’t like winter then Alamogordo is for you. The city is large coming in at just over 30,000 people, making anything you need and shopping readily available.
There are some cool places to visit at least once though such as the Alamogordo balloon park and white sands national monument. Near by Alamogordo though there are a few awesome caves, some you can go on self-guided tours, others by a tour guide, both are worth seeing though. Overall it is not a bad place to live, just prepare for the heat.
