Punta Gorda is not a place for younger people or people who live a fast life. It is great, however, for older people. Many of the activities are boat related or are very "Florida-y". The restaurants downtown are pricy but excellent. I would say that the majority of the population would be older people and/or "rednecks". Punta Gorda Florida is a beautiful small city on the gulf coast of Florida. Many of the homes are located on canals that lead to the Gulf of Mexico, especially in Punta Gorda Isles.
