We have lived in El Dorado Hills for 15 years. I grew up in El Dorado County so I have seen many changes throughout the years. El Dorado Hills has grown exponentially since I moved back in 2001. A Town Center has been developed with restaurants, a movie theater, shops, hotel a ...Read More
nd sports club. The Community Services District provides many opportunities for recreation, learning, and community gatherings. The population has exploded with the growth of Serrano, Promontory, and Blackstone communities, along with other housing villages. Housing is expensive compared to other areas of California but compared to the Bay Area houses are a bargain. There are condos as well as homes on acreage to purchase or rent. Big, small, new, old, tract, custom, you can find what you are looking for in El Dorado Hills. Prices range from $250,000 for a condo to over $3,000,000 for a custom home on the golf course. With rolling hills studded with Oak trees El Dorado Hills is very scenic and a lovely place to live. For golfers there is the Serrano Golf Course which is a private course and Empire Ranch in Folsom is a hop, skip, and a jump away. For families there are great schools and parks. For boaters, water skiers, wake boarders Folsom Lake is right at your door step. Although I am not into nightlife I can not comment on it except to say there are many summer concerts in the CSD park and at Town Center that attract a lively, fun crowd. More and more restaurants are opening in El Dorado Hills and you can find just about any type of food you are looking for at all price ranges. El Dorado Hills is so convenient to just about everything. I mentioned golf clubs and Folsom lake but it is also close to Apple Hill (Camino) and Old Hangtown (Placerville) which are fun areas to explore. El Dorado Hills is only 2 hours from Lake Tahoe for skiing and summer fun or 2 hours the other direction to San Francisco. Downtown Sacramento is about 25 miles down highway 50 and there is traffic during commute times. Sacramento State University is about 20 miles away and there is a great community college nearby. I love living in El Dorado Hills and plan on living here a very long time.

e in this area you are very wealthy, because the average costs of homes here are much larger and nearly double the average cost in surrounding areas. However, you wouldn't have to walk very far in any direction to find a home that was worth well over five million dollars.
One of the best things about El Dorado Hills is the great community and the extremely low level of crime that is reported in the area. El Dorado Hills currently has a crime rate that is less than ten percent of the state average and the people in this area are generally extremely happy and friendly. There are plenty of community centers and there is just a general good vibe all around the area.
You can find some amazing restaurants in this area, which cater to residents that have a great deal of cash, but you can also find great restaurants for affordable prices. There are several outlet malls that are just a short drive away and there is plenty of great shopping at top of the line stores all around the area. You won't find too much night life in this area, but you will find a plethora of outdoor activities. There is amazing fishing and hunting in the area and there are stunning trails that make for great hikes and perfect terrain for dirt biking and mountain biking. In general, El Dorado Hills is a great place to raise a family.
