Woodbury, NJ--Excellent Choice for Great Schools and Low-Crime Living. 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Woodbury, NJ is a great place to raise a family---with excellent schools that rank among the best in the country and an over all low-crime rate. All of our neighbors are friendly and keep a look out for one another on our block. I’m absolutely confident in allowing my kids to p ...Read More lay outside and not have to wonder about their general safety. Everything is here in Woodbury: shopping malls, grocery and convenience stores, restaurants for every palate and budget; parks, movie theaters, great public transportation and public libraries and if you can’t find it here; no doubt, Philly is a hop, skip and jump and you are sure to find anything that Woodbury is lacking—which isn’t much.
The housing and job markets are great and plentiful. While many of who live in Woodbury, are families; there are also many younger, single people in the city, so the nightlife is actually pretty active and there are many cafes, bars and nightclubs in the city. Housing is also cheaper in Woodbury than in surrounding counties and the job market, while not a major pull for most living here (most of us commute); employment opportunities that are available in the area can provide a decent income for those just starting their career. Rental rates are higher than the national average but again, they are not prohibitive and someone single and just starting out wouldn’t have much trouble finding an affordable apartment or townhouse to rent.
