Standin't on the Corner in Winslow Arizona? You better don't. 0.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 27, 2020) We stopped by the Sandin' on The Corner park in Winslow Arizona. It's a really cool attraction, but It took about 4 minutes from the time we parked to the time we got harassed by a very drunk guy, and a homeless junkie. This was at 11AM! Fun times immediately morphed into "let ...Read More 's get the heck out of here!"
The town obviously has many problems. After Route 66 was effectively killed by I-40, many towns along Route 66 collapsed economically, but many also found new ways to find themselves in this new reality. Look at Seligman. It's doing just fine.
Long story short, to me, Winslow is a pass-through kind of place. Don't stop here if you don't have to... Even getting gas was kind of sketchy. Lock your car if you go inside to pay for gas. Sorry, sad but true. Read Less
