Gateway has a great vision but its simply not a realistic one. They have not been able to maintain a consistent board for the life of the school which has lead to large scale turnover at the building level including this year. You can only say after summer training has concluded that you are trying hard to bring everyone together but the reality is they are all new to each other. They have used nearly a half million dollars in legal fees and law suite settlements over the yeas with many more on the way. Finances have not been a strong point for the school. Board oversight has lacked due to the speed with which they turn over. Board members come and go rather than sticking through the difficult times. With an ever changing curriculum and lack of leadership skilled in the area of special education, good intentions can only go so far. The kids that need these kind of services really deserve better. They deserve a leadership that follows research based programs and follows through with fidelity.
