tary use throughout our history. Only 25 miles from the Pennsylvania border and the city of Philadelphia, Wilmington played significant roles in both the revolutionary and civil war. Numerous museums, historical sites and old military forts abound throughout the city. Much of the architecture is still the same as it was then, having some of the oldest original homes in America. The streets, with cobblestone underfoot, can still be found with their original gas lamps lighting the way at night.
Visiting Wilmington is like stepping back in time, I love it. Being so close to Philadelphia, and only a few hours (2) from New York City, Wilmington is as great of a place to visit as it is to live. Many residents commute back and forth from New York, working in the big city, while enjoying the peaceful lifestyle Wilmington can offer. Many major universities are in the surrounding area, and as such the city caters to a wide range of interests, including a bustling nightlife.
