Nothing here, except low cost of living. User Rating 2.5 rating By TimeTraveler ( Apr 16, 2017) This is the perfect place to live if you want to rent or buy a house considerably below the normal cost of living, and have zero expectations beyond that. Remember the saying "You get what you pay for." You'll have a roof over your head, but not much else. Socially, there is n ...Read More o sense of community. The people are generally avoidant at best, and rude at their norm/worst. No one waves, smiles, or tries to get to know you. They have basically all but given up on life and most don't bother changing out of their pajamas when they venture to the post office to get their mail since there is no mailman here. This isn't my negative perception, it IS this way. As for things to do-- there isn't anything. There are 2 or 3 restaurants, but not a "night life" unless your idea of nightlife is just having a beer in a bar, overlooking factories. There is no shopping, unless you count the overpriced corner store who buys their food at Wal-mart then sells it to you at a 400 percent markup, and often gives you stomach issues because it's probably been thawed and refrozen. On the plus side-- many of the houses have been left vacant and abandoned, so it can be very quiet. If you like sitting in your yard and feeding birds, on a weekend, you can do this and other similar activities without being bothered. At night, the sounds alternate between nostalgia trains coupling on the nearby railroad, and pallets crashing and sirens blaring at the remaining factories. Occasionally a random crackhead breaks into your car to steal 45 cents. Occasionally someone steals from your garage. But, for the most part, it's quiet. Read Less
