Not Detroit's Best Area User Rating 2.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Wayne, Michigan is a western suburb of Detroit located between Canton and Inkster. It was once a more bustling and vibrant town full of promise. However, Wayne took a direct hit when the auto industry in Michigan began it's steep decline to outsourcing. Wayne is home to the aband ...Read More oned Ford Motor Company factory which has not been active in quite a few years. The crime in Wayne has risen in recent years yet more recently has remained steady with hopes by residents that it is now on the decline.

The housing market is Wayne is poor, maybe even hopeless. Many homes are abandoned and severely damaged. The few homeowners that are left in Wayne have boarded up their houses to stay safe from criminals and have complained of a lack of public services including a police presence to keep them from having to live like they are in a war zone.

Overall, Wayne is a more depressing area of Detroit and should not be moved to unless you are desperate for housing. If you're looking to raise a family, steer clear of Wayne and save yourself a lot of time and money spent on security, and enjoy ease of mind knowing that your loved ones are safe. Read Less
