Very Conservative and Extremely Religious Town

We retired to Waxhachie about 5 years ago and have watched the town change pretty drastically in that time. Houses are being built on every piece of farmland available, but infrastructure is not being matched. It is EXTREMELY conservative (as is reflected in the voting records) w ...Read More
hich we consider a plus, along with a church on every corner and everyone tells you to have a blessed day, which we also love. Lots of Cali transplants- but they all seem to be escaping and are more conservative than the homegrown Texans. Prices were affordable serveral years ago but seem to be catching up to north Dallas quickly . Lots of chain Restaurants but the town lacks any good spots to eat, although more options seem to pop up everyday. Really cute park for kids with walking trail (Getzendaner) Town is in a good location to get to neighboring towns (Midlothian, Mansfield, Dallas etc.) No public transit, which I also consider a plus. Thankfully No bike lane, road diets or virtue signaling signs in yards like many of the neighboorhoods we initially looked at in north Dallas. Not much nightlife here, but there are some live music venues. Lots of big box shopping options and the square downtown is absolutely adorable. All in all, we are very happy here.

Full of old people (not that I have anything against them). Every bar my roommate and I tried to visit was just full of elders who were hanging out and chilling, we felt out of place. Not to mention it’s full of bikers, smh. Everywhere you go, there’s some sign about biker ga ...Read More
ng, super lame. The roads are also very cracked and tiny. The houses/neighborhoods are beautiful, though. Overall not an ideal place for anyone under 30.

Located 30 minutes from Dallas, Waxahachie is a growing little town that manages to retain its small, friendly and safe community. With the growing the population there are consistently new businesses moving in, adding to a selection of things to do. Downtown is amazing, so beaut ...Read More
iful with tons of history. There’s even a museum for those who are interested in that. We do have a lot of the big names when it comes to stores, so grocery shopping won’t be a problem.
Most notably, the s school system here is great. The community also rally togther to support the teams we do have. Such as our football team, which is fantastic as well as hour high school soccer team. The town also has a soccer club, which gives the community a lot to do with at-home games.
Wasahachie is also very diverse. The many people that have moved here help maintain it, which is one of my favorite parts out the town.
