A Day in the Park at Walker Mill 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) Living in Walker Mill wasn't the best experience for me because of the criminal activity in nearby areas. The crime rate in the general vicinity is a bit high in comparison to other Maryland communities. The area schools have also been negatively impacted.

The redeeming qualit ...Read More ies of living in the area is its established neighborhoods and the recreational activities available at the local park. These include a skate park, tennis courts, and picnic areas. The community is also close to many restaurants to grab a quick bite.
Another benefit of living in Walker Mill is a WMATA train station located close to the community.

There aren't many employment opportunities in Walker Mill, except for retail or fast food positions. Many residents commute to Washington, D.C. or Virginia for gainful employment. Some of the best areas in Walker Mill are around the location of the regional park. The choices for housing include apartment communities, single family homes, and row houses. The cost of living in general is comparable to many other towns in Maryland. Read Less
