efield keeps you away from a lot of terrible traffic in the Newport News and Norfolk areas, but you're still on Highway 460 with decent access to other cities.
The best areas in Wakefield would be the downtown area with their amazing restaurants, and near the conference center's woods and walkways.
Downtown is full of amazing, old buildings that have architecture from the early 19th century. There’s a healthy mix of old brick buildings, darkened concrete slabs, bricks of faded yellow and signs that once advertised fountain drinks and hot dogs.
The trees are the main appeal, and they’re more than just a small feature on a few curbs and green strips. So many oaks, so many pine trees, all with so much green and a powerful woosh and whisper when the wind passes through.
