You can meet some good people, trade some good stories, and get some good fish recipes. Living in Vicksburg, MS is a good way to enjoy a well-grounded, culture-rich Southern town while tapping into what makes the everyday American's life worth living. Even when the chips are down, you can depend on the Mississippi.

The best areas in Vicksburg, MS are near the Vicksburg National Military Park and anywhere along the Mississippi river. Louisiana is just across the river, giving you access to the Tensas River and Big Lake wildlife areas. On the Mississippi side you can visit historic cities such as Antioch, Utica, Delta, and finally Jackson about 50 minutes away. Read Less
