      Another retirement community.
If you’re of retirement age or an everyday beachgoer you’ll probably love it here. Housing options for anyone with an average income and not a senior citizen is abysmal. Two apartment options- Walker Woods or Vero Green. And they know it. Which means they can treat their tenants any way they want and know that they won’t leave. Houses for rent are a bit of a joke. You definitely don’t get what you pay for. The rest of the apartments are 55+ or income restricted. Job opportunities are not plentiful. Keep in mind that when the “snow birds” are “in season” here you’ll be waiting for a table anywhere you go, not be able to get a doctors appointment for months at a time, and will constantly deal with obnoxious drivers. Some may use the excuse that the snow birds bring in extra income for the state. However, it’s not worth the hassle in my honest opinion. Vero Beach was fun for a few months. Enjoyed the Arts District and all of the hip little night spots downtown. But once you have a family, there’s not much else to do. Too hot to enjoy the outdoors in the Spring, Summer, Fall. Too crowded with senior citizens in the winter.

Experience the Resort Luxury of Vero Beach, Florida
Located along the picturesque shores of the Treasure Coast, Vero Beach is a scenic beach community on the east coast of Florida. I love living in Vero Beach because of the plentiful outdoor recreational opportunities. The subtropical climate provides warm and sunny weather year-round. A booming aviation industry provides many diverse job opportunities, led by Piper Aircraft. As with most of Florida, citrus production and tourism also boost the local economy.

The best areas of Vero Beach are all of the coastal areas, capitalizing on the warm waters of the Atlantic and the idyllic sandy beaches. Disney's Vero Beach Resort is the area's biggest tourist attraction, providing an extensive family-friendly destination for fun for all ages. The Indian River Lagoon is the hub for boating, kayaking, and fishing activities. The historic downtown area has been re-engineered to provide a host of dining and shopping options, as well as numerous art galleries. Residents and visitors alike flock to the famous Marsh Landing Restaurant.
