If you have never seen the sun set on the Gulf of Mexico, it is something to behold. Luckily for me, living in Venice, Florida means I can see the sunset every single night right from my backyard. My home in the Venetian is tucked away from where all the tourists congregate, yet I can be at beaches along the coast in seconds.
The amazing thing about Venice is it is right in between Cape Coral and Sarasota. I can be up the coast at stunning Siesta Key beaches in a few minutes, considered the best beach in the world. While riding I-75, I can have the pick of fine dining establishments, shopping malls and premium outlets, and even things like the Sarasota Jungle Gardens.
The best areas in Venice are all within walking distance for me. Venice Beach is a little to my north, then Sharky's on the Pier is a little further south, right next to my dog's favorite place, the Brohard Paw Park.

Ms. Rodica ChiacuRight now I live in NY and I would like to move in a nice area of Florida! Is the hurricane season bad? Is the ocean close by Venice?

Venice lifestyle.Hi, we are thinking about relocating to Venice, Fl. We'd like to know if the community is friendly or stand-offish? Also is there an fairly active lifestyle for the 55+ set, i.e., biking, tennis, golf, dancing? Are there any neighborhoods to avoid due to crime? Which neighborhoods are closest to amenities and maybe are walkable. Lastly, what do you like best about living in Venice? Thank you for your response.
