Trotwood, OH: Inexpensive Option to Dayton 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Trotwood, Ohio is a far northwest suburb of the larger city, Dayton. Trotwood can be described as mediocre only because half of the city is decent and safe, but the other half, not so much. Trotwood used to be a more bustling city than it is today, with more work available and mo ...Read More re people in the city owning their homes. It just so happens that Trotwood was a victim of outsourced factories like many large cities in Ohio, and has since never really recovered.

Most houses in Trotwood that were once owned by locals are now rented out to low income families which has brought a certain vibe to the city that doesn't sit well with homeowners. They consider this to be the downfall of their neighborhoods. The public school system in Trotwood is decent, but due to urban sprawl has become steadily in decline. Trotwood's nightlife and shopping scene can only be described as mediocre too. The one positive the city has is it's level of cultural diversity and various socio-economic statuses spread throughout.

Overall, it may be best to avoid living in Trotwood unless you're really looking for something cheap or looking to rent. You'd be better off and get more bang for your buck just buying a house in Dayton. Read Less
