Thomasville, A Hill-Touched Beauty 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in Thomasville, NC is like enjoying the quiet comfort of a Southern town with the rolling hills of Ireland. Well, they're not as steep or boundless as the land of Tír na nÓg, but it's an amazing view nonetheless.

Walking through downtown is like being hugged by simpler ...Read More times, as the old storefronts greet comfortable houses and the rise of smarter industries in the surrounding area.

Thomasville isn't too far from Charlotte, with a commute just a bit over an hour. That more than makes up for the lack of stores, but Thomasville might still be too quiet for some people.

I'm a writer, so the quiet doesn't bother me much. I get plenty of sun, and compared to living in South Carolina, the weather is like a dream. Mosquitoes aren't nearly as big of an issue as in other parts of the Carolinas--to the point that they terrify me when I visit my parents back in SC--and that makes the American Zika virus threat a non-issue.

The best areas in Thomasville, NC are between US-70 and I-85. The Main Street area gives you plenty of restaurants, and sends you on your way to Concord and Charlotte. Beautiful Winston-Salem is north, with the Wake Forest University nestled in the stunning woods of the campus. Read Less
