Everything and More in Takoma Park 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Takoma Park is one of the best areas in Maryland. Living in this city is awesome. The location is excellent for getting around. Local transportation includes frequent runs by buses and a metro train station. Many things are also within walking distance. There's a farmer's market ...Read More on Saturdays and just about every type of business to meet your needs.

A lot of families as well as singles flock to this area. The schools and libraries are great and there are some colleges and private schools in the city as well. The city is very diverse and artsy. The crime rate is low. There's a local paper that keeps everyone updated on events and what's going on in the city. There's lots of theatres in the area and all types of festivals and functions. A huge park with playgrounds and trails called Sligo Creek Park is a favorite of many residents.

Housing in the city runs the gamut from small inexpensive rentals to million dollar mansions. The cost of living otherwise is a bit high, but really depends on where you shop. Some of the best areas of Takoma Park are near Silver Spring and around the area that borders Washington, D.C. Read Less
