If you want to move to Vegas you HAVE to live in Summerlin. Yes, it is the priciest suburb in the Valley, but it is worth it. Vegas has a good amount of crime, but Summerlin seems to be the exception. That being said, crime is trickling into Summerlin and getting worse each year, ...Read More
so try to land in a gated community, if possible (not hard). In Summerlin, you have all the restaurants and shopping you need. If you need a locals casino, we've got them. If you need Red Rock Canyon, we've got it. If there is something we don't have (nightclubs, etc) you're only 20-30 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip.
Besides the crime becoming more prevalent, the only other complaint I have is the people are definitely a bit snobbier here compared to Henderson or Centennial. The high cost of living and affluent lifestyle Summerlin provides definitely rubs people the wrong way here... Don't expect to make tons of friends or have anyone be nice to you in the stores, etc. That being said, if you can afford Summerlin, I still highly recommend it if you can look past the rudeness. Greener than most of Vegas, higher elevation provides a 4-8 degree cool down, and the mountains as our backyard help us receive more rain and an occasional snow compared to Vegas and Henderson.
Fingers crossed we can get the petty crime under control so we can go back to being considered one of the best places to live in the country!!!

When I think about living in Summerlin South, I am always reminded and intrigued by desert summers how humidity differs from here and the east coast. It's been some very hot summers and it took me quite a bit of time to get used to how brutal they can be.
I know that the Desert ...Read More
Breeze Park is a nice hip spot for the youth, and you can find some great living spaces around the Canyon Gate area and also Far Hills Avenue. Enjoying a night out with your friends doesn't take much planning either, all you have to do is go on down to the Gardens Park area and there you can find bus stops and eateries.
I know a lot is made about Las Vegas and the hype surrounding that city, but I feel like you can get along just fine living somewhere smaller and with such high ratings in all areas like Summerlin. In the future give a visit and check us out for yourself!
