Some things people leave out

The city heavily regulates building and business codes, making it more difficult to open, and expensive to maintain, a business. The police are quite active with stopping people for radar, and using red light cameras. It is my opinion that the crime rate is significantly under reported. There are parts of the city that are safe and some not so nice areas.
Access to internet and phone services is regulated by the city so prices have been significantly higher than surrounding areas. The city even has an additional tax on your cell phone. Prices for many items are higher at the stores in the city, and better prices can be found nearby. This is not a place to go for nightlife. It is a bit of a drive (45-60 minutes) to the downtown in the morning. Most of the newer large roads to and around the neigboring cities are now toll roads.
The city is clean. It is growing, most of the schools are above average. There are very good hospitals and physicians. The roads inside the city have a good flow during most times of the day. There is a nice local stadium which is low cost and fun for kids.

My Sugar Land, Texas Experience is a 10!

I moved to Sugar Land, Texas to be closer to my new husband's family in the summer of 2007 and stayed until winter of 2009. Two of the best years of my life!

The community is based on meeting the needs of it's residents with the highest qualities of affordable services possible, providing excellent schools, libraries, community centers, which increse home values and make the residents feel, well- "Welcomed".

The new Sugar Land Town Square is the newest shopping center in town with all the popular stores and shops, dining, and movie theater and a First Class Hotel with a Conference Center and Professional Business Hall. A great place to enjoy a family day!
