Suffolk, VA - Beach Living in Virgina 4 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 10, 2010) I visited Suffolk, VA for two weeks in 2007 with my spouse. Suffolk is a great city with plenty to do. Those who enjoy the beach life will be thrilled with Suffolk. Historical enthusiasts will be delighted by the many historical attractions in the Suffolk area. The younger crowd ...Read More will be pleased by the variety of night life and beach attitude.

Aside from all the standard attractions found in Suffolk there is a tons of shopping. My wife was thrilled by the vast amounts of places selling fine art, local art, antiques and historic pieces as well. Some of the more impressive shopping destinations were the "Eagle Hobby Shop" and "Riddick's Folly House Museum Gift Shop". There are also several malls located in and around Suffolk.

The "Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge" makes for a great day trip with the family or as a couple. While in Suffolk there are plenty of great dining options available and quite a few that should not be missed. The better choices include "Amici's Pizza Cafe", "Casablanca" and "Kelly's Tavern" to grab a casual drink. Night life is also abound in Norfolk including several Gentlemen's clubs which are open very late. Read Less
