Sturgis is up n coming User Rating 4 rating By Dreammagik ( Jun 17, 2016) sturgis, while still considered a small town(appx 35.000 ppl). We are growing. We now have a meijers, bigby coffee plus a few specialty shops. So, together we have..4 motels-hotels.strand movie house.family video.kroegers grocery.walmart.4 auto part stores.a campground(greenvalle ...Read More y) a golf course(greenvalley 9 or 18 holes)several fast foods(mcds.b.king.wendys.in n out.kfc). We also have included a buffalo wings n wings ect. restaurant. There is great clips.family dollar.general dollar dollar tree a tcs. Goodwill.glix clothing.maurices clothing.games stop.bowling ally n night club(live bands). Several gas stations(bp.marathon.admiral) several very nice parks n playgrounds.our school system i feel has very high education standards and the teachers are above average for teaching n interactive with parents n students. Specialty shops include a scrapbooking.vintage home decor.a spa.jewelry store.appliance and car radio installation shop.we have several hair shops including an aveda salon. Several dog grooming places a pet store. Not to disinclude the usual like banks.library.police n fire department.we also have the Sturgis Auditorium which has had many famous high class acts.plays.concerts ect. Sturgis is also a short drive to to other growing or big towns such as three rivers.kalamazoo.coldwater.battle creek. Finally, in my opinion Sturgis, Michigan should be up in atleast the top 50 to 100 cities.we are still considered a small town and the ppl here are friendly and most ppl have grown up here and know everyone. We are growing and from what the buzz around town is..we plan to grow more.we already have a huge condo being built downtown which will include restaurants n shops. The downfall in sturgis is unless you own a company, farming or work in food or retail most employment takes place across the border to Indiana and consists mostly of factory jobs(rv n trailers). Yet.i still feel Sturgis is a good place to live no matter if single.married.retired or raising a family. Housing is priced reasonbly as with rentals. Especially, if you compare to states like Minnesota.indiana.illinois..Thank you.. Read Less
