While we love the city, it’s definitely a busy, hectic place and we found ourselves craving a bit of quiet after a long day of dealing with traffic and tourists.

Sterling is the perfect solution. It’s about a 45 minute drive to D.C. but it doesn’t feel anything like the city. It’s a smaller suburb, but has plenty of good shopping centers and recreation options. The area is really clean and the restaurants are actually really nice! There are a number of parks which are fantastic to walk around and we’ve never really seen much crime. There are a few houses that should be upgraded, and a few areas that aren’t as “nice” as others, but that’s par for the course in any city. Read Less
