St. Albans, WV: DO NOT Take Me to This Home, Country Roads! Holy cow, this place is terrible with a capital T! After living in St Albans for just under 2 years I packed up everythi ...Read More ng I own and got out of there fast. Who would have thought a place in mild-mannered West Virginia could have such an outrageous crime rate? The schools are just pitiful, with nearly as many dropouts each year as there are graduates. The entire town is just falling apart at the seams and no one who lives there seems to notice or care. St. Albans could easily be one of the best areas in West Virginia, but not without a major overhaul and citizens who care.


If you find yourself stuck there for any reason, at least take in some of the local attractions: Morgan's Kitchen Plantation Museum, the Mardi Gras Casino and Resort, the C & O Depot Museum, Criel Mound, and the Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center. Read Less
