I grew up in the beautiful city of South Gate, California. Growing up there was absolutely amazing and relaxing to my soul. There was something about the way the palm trees and sunny skies brightened my body and mind. I used to spend most of my days at Surfside beach and at the B ...Read More
rea Mall. The Brea Mall was where I enjoyed lunch and occasionally dinner with a few of my closest friends. After we got done eating we always took time to shop for a new outfit at the clothing stores in the mall. That way we would have something new to wear for our weekend escapades. The one thing I always wished for as a teenager growing up in South Gate is for their to be more choices when it came to the shopping department. There was never really to many great places to go, but just enough to get me by.
Luckily South Gate was located next to Walnut Park and Lynwood, California because they had some pretty cool places to hang out and eat at. South Gate had a few nice places to see like the Travel Town Museum. I have to say that is one of the most interesting places I have ever been. Anyone visiting my hometown should make sure to drop by the museum at least once while they are visiting. Although I loved growing up in the city of South Gate, California I moved away at 18 to live in Wiscasset, Maine where I have now lived for the past seven years. The cold here is what really makes me miss home. I sometimes long for the soft, warm wind the city produces and the view of the palmero plants and palm trees swaying in the breeze. Some day I will go back to visit, and hopefully that day is soon.
