Socorro is a small border city in Texas, not too far from El Paso, and I liked living in Socorro for the most part. It didn't get super hot like it felt when I lived in Arizona, and there were enough things to do there to stay busy.

et around the city because the bus service covers a good portion of the downtown area. It wasn't too hard to find a job here, although you can always try commuting to El Paso and taking advantage of the low rents in Socorro.
Rio Bosque Park is right up against the Mexican border and I think it's one of the best areas in Socorro. It's a nice place to relax and socialize with other residents, without having to drive too far to get to a mall or see a movie. Socorro isn't a very busy city, but I did enjoy living there.
