Not the A+ for crime in the area as site states...maybe a D at most! 1.5 rating By sams123 ( Feb 09, 2015) This is or was a nice area with a few things going for it, however, it has had a few major crimes like murder right in the city as well as the outer area too. Surrounding areas of Vernon and Verona are actually better in my opinion as I just moved to verona from sherrill myself ...Read More and love it. Central NY is nice area just higher taxes than hoped but still less than NYC! There is more nightlife and things to do outside of Sherrill too, casino in Verona and shopping mall coming to Verona soon too! Also, Vernon has Vernon Downs with more restaurants than Sherrill and Verona Oneida Turning Stone Casino has many restaurants that are great. Weather here is good except in the winter when we can get heavy snow fall or extreme cold days below zero. Overall though nice but unfortunately this site hiped up Sherrill to be better than it is...sorry Sherrill but this is why I left...just not much here anymore and people here can be stuck up, snooty and just not nice at times!
