Buehl Park is beautiful. Sharon's downtown is bustling with shops. The Shenango River
was recently voted the cleanest river in Pennsylvania. There are a lot of honest people
here. There are are several good restaurants. If you really want to experience Sharon

We're off to see the Winner, the wonderful Winner dress shop....Then what? Sharon is still clinging to it's claims of "World's Largest" everything. Dress shop, shoe store, candy store, chicken wings. They've made a valiant effort to return the city to it's historical culture an ...Read More
d beauty by bringing in Waterfire. Yes, forget bidding for jobs, just bring in men in canoes to light the river on fire a few times per summer. However, you can't fix a city by bringing in a festival. The city is broken. It went under with Sharon Steel, and it's barely got it's head above the murky water of the Shenango River. Waterfire may be all it has, so we will give it that, in fairness. A for effort! But, at the end of the day, there are 362 other days in a year and Sharon remains the same dirty, depressing city the rest of the time. The crime rises, the rent decreases-- store fronts go up, and store fronts go out. The diner charges 7.00 for a milkshake to residents who make well below average wages. Most people here fall into one of two categories-- Hopeful optimists who try to find the silver lining in the dying rustbelt-- they've recreated an "art scene," because they never went to bigger cities, and know they can be the big fish in the little pond here. They will vehemently defend Sharon, as if they have never been to a real city, or they're spiritual evolved above saying anything negative (aka truthful) about their city. The other categories fall into the overly medicated or need to be medicated category. These are the pajama wearing zombie clan who have given up and shuffle around town because what other choice do they have? Do yourself a favor and move anywhere else.
