Not A Lot To Recommend Selden, New York User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Living in Selden, New York is like living in a town where you know you are only going to be there temporarily because you want to move on to a better place as soon as you can. Even the best areas in Selden are comprised of older homes that all seem to need a bit of repair or a fr ...Read More esh coat of paint. The school system has a very low graduation rate. Crime is becoming a concern as the numbers creep up. There is no public transportation so if you do not drive, like me, things can be a bit difficult. Over the last few years, the job market has taken quite a plunge.

As for entertainment or any type of nightlife, those are pretty nonexistent as well. Aside from a couple of escape room experiences (Padlocked Inc. and The Escape Room Game), The Pennysaver Ampitheater (security has even become an issue here!), and Tiki Action Park entertainment center, you're pretty much stuck at home with Netflix. A few local shops and fast-food places, but nothing you won't find in any other "just passing through" town. Read Less
