I live in Sayreville, New Jersey, and it is one of the most beautiful cities in America. It is situated on the Raritan River, which means that it has ample room for fishing and boating activities. There is roughly 18.704 square miles around the city. It's the kind of place where ...Read More
you can raise your kids and know that they're safe. With lower crime rates and plenty of friendly neighbors, it's the place you stop and wave to each other as you're going down the street.
I have lived in Sayreville for more than 20 years. Things have certainly changed around here as the time has passed, but most changes have been for the good. It's a small area in Middlesex County and called a Borough. We are close enough to New York City that many people live here and travel to the city to work. The cost of living is less here than in the Manhattan area, and some feel it is worth the commute. We are 24 miles from Manhattan and 4 miles from Staten Island. There's even a community bus that transports people from this area to downtown NYC for work purposes.
There are about 43,000 people that call this area home. One of the largest churches in America is here, and they have over 10,000 members. If you like religion, this isn't the Bible belt, but there are plenty of fellowships of all denominations around. We take pride in the famous people who are from here, including John Bon Jovi and Tom Kelly from the Minnesota Twins.
Kennedy Park is a local hangout for children that has been upgraded with state of the art equipment. Those who like skateboarding and doing bike tricks will love the new ramps that were installed. There are two community football teams here, as well as two community cheerleading squadrons. Shopping is ample with many stores to choose from. Medical care is also not a concern. There are numerous hospitals both locally and within a short drive of the area. Even though it is a smaller area, there is so much close by that coming home to the peace and quiet is nice. I have no plans of moving; it's home.
