When I need to travel for work, I have to pick somewhere that can support my contract work and my soul at the same time.
That sounded a little sappy, but hear me out.

most of my work is in remote tech, I don't really need to hit the road and close out my tab. It's essentially like being a vacation renter, except I'm paying for my stay as it goes.
Royal Palm Beach is a great place in Florida to work this kind of plan. The internet is decent, the view is great, the food is nice, and I had one more unexpected bonus.
The music.
I love jazz. I love soul. I'm not exactly someone who is anti-pop or anti-any kind of modern music, but there's a serious lack of jazz music if you're not visiting a specific jazz hub. Living in Royal Palm Beach gives me the access I need, but with a lower cost of living than other surrounding areas.
The best areas in Royal Palm Beach are around Golden Lakes or near where Highway 98 brings you into the restaurants. That gives you access to the food and the music, and gives you an easy route to West Palm Beach for even more jazz scene.
My only negative is that it doesn't have as much as West Palm, but that can be fixed with enough guests! You don't need to live all the way in West Palm to enjoy the life, so get a house in the area or try my vacation rotation idea.
I've never been one for big city living. Just big city visitation.
