Rotterdam, NY - A Traditional Dutch Town In Modern Upstate New York User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) I have lived in Rotterdam, NY for the majority of my adult life, and I have found this town to be one of the best places to live. The best thing about Rotterdam, NY is that it is just a nice small community that offers me the chance to raise a family.

The best areas in Rotterdam ...Read More , NY are in the downtown area near Broadway Street. This area is home to many different restaurants ranging from Thai to traditional Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. The area is also home plenty of bars, and there is rapid transit to Schenectady for extra fun.

Living in Rotterdam is what people think of when they imagine a nice Upstate community. The area has beautiful old dutch houses with spacious lawns. The community is mostly made of settled adults but there are plenty of children, old people, and young working professionals.

My favorite thing about Rotterdam, NY were the ample parks, the chance to walk along the locks that make up the Erie Canal. Read Less
