Living in Roosevelt, NY is NOT Recommended! 2 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) I have been living in Roosevelt for about 5 years now, and I will be moving away just as soon as I have enough money saved up to go! I'm sorry to say that there is nothing redeeming about this place. I try to find something positive in every situation but the bottom line is the p ...Read More eople who live here simply don't care about the environment they live in. The crime rate is high and getting higher. The schools have an alarmingly high drop out rate and low graduation rates. There are just no jobs to be found anywhere close by. The only things I can even remotely speak positively of are the weather and the housing market, which somehow seems to be doing well even in a place like this.

There are few things to do here by way of fun and entertainment. There's the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City, which has interactive and hands-on activities and experiments for the kids to take part in. There's the Oyster Bay Oyster Festival every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season. Nightlife simply doesn't exist. Believe me, there are better places to live. Read Less
