River head - Town With Great Shopping User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Riverhead is an often-overlooked place in Suffolk County, but one that has a lot of amenities and activities for family members. Absolutely love living here and there are many great opportunities and options available in the town.

Riverhead is as close to a city as Suffolk
...Read More County has, and thanks to the Tangiers Shopping Outlets, a community that many city livers are familiar with. The Tangiers Shopping Outlets means that there are great name brand shopping options in the town, at affordable prices. However, on Main Street, there are also a lot of smaller shopping and dining options that are unique and boutique in nature.

The expansive commercial areas provides a good amount of jobs, but the distance from Manhattan makes it hard to commute into the city for work, though a LIRR line option exists.

There are great amenities in town including the Long Island Aquarium and farm stands for great produce. The school district is good and the community is diverse, providing a great slice of life on the island. Highly recommend Riverhead for raising a family. Read Less
