Gilpin - a reject. User Rating 0.5 rating By pagemike ( May 06, 2022) I could not ignore the grievous error that was made by rating the Gilpin district of Richmond as 88 for overall livability. Ever since I moved to Richmond (1986) Gilpin has been a distressed, blighted slum adjacent to downtown Richmond. It competes every year as one of the most ...Read More dangerous places to live in the Richmond metro area. A quick check against Neighborhood Scout reveals that Gilpin's reputation for crime is still intact. Crime is not the only category that is misrepresented. For example: how can any neighborhood have housing costs 100% lower than surrounding locations? That would mean properties are free. It makes no sense. Amenities in Gilpin could only by rated A+ if you are including crack-houses and brothels. Obviously, someone at Areavibes did not do their homework.

Please do the right thing and strike Gilpin off the list of desirable communities. Read Less
