If you live in the city, ...Read More you can expect to pay about $800 for a two-bedroom apartment or home. This is normal for almost every area of Richmond.

The people in the city are very friendly. I haven't met a stranger yet, but I have noticed that some of the teenagers need to work on their manners. There have been a few times when I have been walking down the sidewalk in town, and a group of teenagers will come by on skateboards without bothering to stop.

This is an area that is full of history. There are several parks, including Point Isabel. This is my favorite place to go before sunset. I can walk my dog in the park and hike on the trails. Hilltop Lake Park is a place where many families gather to play ball or simply enjoy the warm sunshine. It makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere in the midst of a bustling city. When it comes to restaurants, there isn't one set kind of food that can be ordered. There are numerous ethnicities when it comes to foo choices, but my favorite place to go is Casper's Hot Dogs. It's a small restaurant, but the hot dogs and hamburgers served are delicious and piled high with almost any topping you can imagine. The fries are cut by hand every day, and there are sweet treats like pie slices and pieces of cake that will make your mouth water. Read Less

Richmond is a city that is located to the north of Berkley off of Interstates 80 and 580. The city has seen steady growth over the years, and today the population is over 110,000 residents. The city is located in Contra Costa County, and it is home to Rosie the Riveter's National Historical Park. As indicated by this attraction, the city played a very important role in the industrial output necessary for the Allies to beat the Axis powers in World War II.

Home prices in Richmond are cheaper than in other parts of the North Bay Area. This lets first time home buyers and those who have struggled to find affordable housing in other parts of the Bay Area improve their quality of life. The area's top neighborhoods include Point Richmond, Marina Bay, Richmond Annex, Iron Triangle, and Park Plaza. Each of these neighborhoods have a good selection of homes available along the price spectrum. One of the things that makes Richmond an attractive place to live is the number of friendly and warm-hearted people who call the area home.

There are many interesting things to do in Richmond and the surrounding Bay Area communities. Tilden Regional Park is one of the largest green spaces in the area, and it is a hit with people who love to get outdoors to recreate. Whether you go for walk among the towering trees or just relax under the shade of one of them while you read a book, this is a nice place to go to recharge your batteries. Wildcat Canyon Regional Park is another outdoor oasis in the heart of the busy city. It is a little bit more open than the first park, and it is a great place to fly a kite on a windy day in the Bay. Point Pinole Regional Shoreline offers picturesque views of the waterfront, and it has some trails for walking as well.

The traffic situation in Richmond as not as bad as it is in other Bay Area cities. Its smaller population means that you are less likely to get stuck in a traffic jam while driving around the streets of Richmond. The city enjoys a robust public transportation network with the Bay Area Rapid Transit and the Golden Gate Transit Authority offering shuttles, busses, and trains to get people around the valley.

The schools in Richmond offer students a good educational experience. Some of the top schools are Valley View Elementary, Coronado Elementary, and Leadership Academy. The school district is also one of the largest employers in the area. Mountain Hardware and Sangamo Therapeutics are large privately-held companies that call the area home and offer good employment opportunities.
