QC is not the same as San Tan Valley User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 10, 2021) Queen Creek is a relatively small town. The other review is describing San Tan Valley. If you move here make sure you are in Maricopa county and NOT Pinal. Median income in QC was $89K last I checked, and median age was 33. I like that most people are in the same stage of life as ...Read More we are, I.e. young and raising kids. However there are older couples too. Stores and restaurants are very nice. Many restaurants have outdoor dining. We keep getting more and more brand new amenities but we still have a small town feel. Just opened our first hotel. People are more neighborly than nearby Mesa. There is a high LDS population but still many other non-LDS citizens. We are friends with all of our neighbors. Mansel Carter park is beautiful with lots to do, man-made lake, skate park, baseball fields, soccer, playground, etc. We have a dog park and a splash pad. Tons of kids sports to choose from. Good mix of public and charter schools. Lots of open space, trails, including horse back riding. San Tan National park has mountain hiking and biking. The walking/running trails go through the neighborhoods so you can ride your bike to stores and restaurants depending on where you are. We like QC Olive Mill, QC Botanical Garden, and Schnepf Farms as attractions and more keep coming. There are food trucks on Friday night near the library and farmers markets sometimes on Saturdays. We just got our own police force (was previously sheriff). Nice post office and nice fire stations. Traffic is not the best therefore commuting to downtown Phx would not be ideal. I work in a city that commuting to is not a problem. PHX metro area is hot so plan on having a pool. We like to take the RV up to the mountains during the summer which can be 2-4 hrs depending on where you go. Lakes are not far if you like boating. Mexico beaches are 3 hrs and San Diego beach is a 5 hr drive. Vegas is 4-6hrs. Winters are BEAUTIFUL with no snow so everyone is outside enjoying the weather. Overall we are very happy here and don’t plan on moving. Read Less
dreams come here to die User Rating 0.5 rating By weenie666 ( Dec 06, 2016) queen creek has been split into san tan valley also, but they're pretty much the same. traffic was bad but has only gotten worse since they are building a new subdivision on every open plot of land, u can now COUNT ON an accident or 2 daily at the ocotillo/ironwood or ironwood/co ...Read More mbs intersections, oh and lets not forget the addition of the american leadership acadamy which has reduced a 50 mph zone to 25 mph, and again TOTALLY not enough lanes for all the influx. Be prepared, when u try to sleep at night to hear (1) your neighbors dogs who never shut up (2) police sirens starting at around 11pm nightly. The more I started to research online the more I saw just how many (bad) crimes are going on in qc it was shocking! Neighborly spirit? how about living in the same place 4 years & not knowing ANY neighbors? its HOT so nobody comes outside, or u have 6' brick prison walls between u and your neighbors OR the rental houses in your hood switch tenants every 6 months. NIGHTLIFE: hahahaha. PARKING: never b4 have i lived somewhere where i get harassed for parking in front of my own house?! SAFE & SOUND: NO! read articles online, murder, kidnapping.. way too much for how small a town this is! PESTS: YES, MANY, DEADLY! scorpions, black widows, both common to see! not to mention all the gnat, white flies, fruit flies, regular flies!! PUBLIC TRANSPORT: none. And just the stupidity of who's running the show out here, I mean, they've torn up the major road (Hunt hwy) so whats the next logical thing to do? Tear up the alternate route (Bella vista) not to mention they also have ocotillo torn up all round walmart area, all this at the SAME TIME?! Theres no common sense! The schools are very below average & always begging for money & supplies, theres no good pizza except (expensive) rosatti's, most everything closes early, chase bank is horrible. And if your moving from anywhere with green... be prepared to see nothing by dry, brown, withered stuff. And lets not forget the great roads! speed bumps or dips at EVERY intersection, so, just in case your not looking and are driving at a normal speed of like 30 mph u pretty much destroy your front end. There's just a general unfriendliness here, Ive lived/visited quite a few places, nothing as racist, judgemental as this place, if your a white male christian who likes to ride things in the sand & drink beer in your open garage then this is probably heaven for you! As a white male, non religious, I CANNOT STAND this place, never have I had so many religo's come to my door for jesus or whoever, oh and lets not forget all the other solicitors who wanna test your water or fix your windshields or give u a home alarm, I mean, as gun happy a state as AZ is I would think you'd leave people alone, but NEVER have I been bothered so much by door to door salespeople! i cannot wait to move outta here in 3 months!!! THE ONLY reason I marked a 1 instead of ZERO on the "rate local amenities" is because it wouldn't let me do zero! Read Less
