Nice to bad to worse User Rating 1 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 05, 2019) I have lived here for more than 30 years. people have gotten so disrespectful. People here are rude and disrespectful. No real policing of the area. They just try to be everyones friend instead of handing out the tickets. People are the problem User Rating 1 rating By Larry F ( May 23, 2018) Due to my career choice I've lived in several cities across the western and central north America's. The one thing I have always found in my travels is friendly thoughtful people. There is a severe lack of humanity and consideration in this city. A bunch of whiners and complai ...Read More ners and nothing is there fault. Fat, stupid and lazy are found in large quantities in puyallup. I've had neighbors park in front of driveway of my home. I've seen kids, numerous kids numerous times abuse animals on their walks to and from school. My neighbor has had multiple robberies. The good news is that the package theft companies are hiring and most are located in puyallup. Read Less
Great place to live, but cost of living here is getting high User Rating 3.5 rating By jsmmthomas ( Dec 24, 2016) I've read some of the other reviews of Puyallup, and I have to say I do not agree with most of them. They do have a lot of churches here, and I wouldn't say they are all spiritually dead. There are always some that may try to be politically correct because they don't want to al ...Read More ienate the LBGT community, but there are others that choose to just speak the truth from the Word. I've been to a church here where the pastor stated his opinion as if were facts taken directly from the Bible, and I've been to a few churches where is there is something left to interpretation, the pastor chooses to state his opinion as just that, his opinion of what it means. There is plenty of shopping available here. We have South Hill Mall, and we have a couple of strip malls, a couple of WalMarts and a couple of Targets. Violent crime is very low here, but property crime can be a problem. When we first moved into our home, we had a break in. Fortunately they didn't get much because I happened to have my alarm set pretty much right for the time they broke in. We bought an alarm for the house and haven't had a problem in the three years since then. The people here may seem distant or disinterested, but I contribute that to what is commonly known as the "Seattle Freeze". People don't mean to be rude or unsocial, they're just usually so involved in whatever they're doing they tend to ignore their surroundings. We've lived in this neighborhood for a little over four years, and we've hardly ever talked with our neighbors other than a quick hello if we happen to be outside at the same time. I can't really speak much for the nightlife as I am not really into that scene. If you love coffee, you're in the right place as there are coffee stands on almost every block of the main roads here: Canyon and Meridian. Read Less

Hometown Feel User Rating 4 rating By Butterfly85 ( Jul 09, 2013) I have lived in or around Puyallup for most of my life and have never experienced the extreme negativity being spoken by PENNY13. There are multiple different churches in and around Puyallup for those who are looking for a church home. I have attended many of them and have neve ...Read More r experienced any of them that are spiritually dead. When I attended high school there I think I experienced 2 pregnant teenagers at my highschool total so I'm not sure where that label came from either. I have rented multiple apartments in the south hill area and have never experienced intrusive management/staff. I can't personally say that I've dealt with any legal cases but I have never heard any negative experiences from those I know who have. My take is that Puyallup is a great community to live in especially when compared to some of the other surrounding south sound communities. There is not a lot in the way of nightlife for the single folks but there are nearby bars/restaurants that you can frequent plus nearby movie theaters. Lots of restuarants to choose from throughout both downtown and southhill area of Puyallup. There is a mall plus multiple different shopping centers on south hill and multiple different grocers to choose from. For families with kids there are local activities neaby whether it be skating, bowling, biking, or playing baseball in the park. My favorities part about living in Puyallup is the sense of community they build through local events. The summer is full of fun with a weekly farmers market, concerts and movies in the park and more. Traffic on south hill can be bad at times and I'm sure there are the few bad seeds in the city, as there would be in any, but I definitely would not peg the city to blame for those instances/people as it is definitely not the norm and "nightmare" is not an appropriate label. PUYALLUP NIGHTMARE User Rating 0.5 rating By PENNY13 ( Apr 19, 2013) I WAS RAISED A GOD-FEARING CHRISTIAN WITH RESPECT FOR THE GOLDEN RULE AND MY FELLOW MAN.
FROM THE DAY I STARTED WORKING AFTER HIGHSCHOOL TO RECENT; I HAVE ENCOUNTERED NOTHING BUT CUT-THROAT, BAD PEOPLE IN PUYALLUP.
THEY SEEK NOTHING BUT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANYONE THEY CAN, DEF

PLAN ON GETTING INTO CAR ACCIDENTS AROUND PUYALLUP, PEOPLE ACT LIKE RAMMING PEOPLE AT RUSH-HOUR IS OK AND YOU SHOULD NOT EXPECT TO GET COMPENSATION FOR THEIR DESTROYING YOUR CAR. HAVE HAD TO SUE THREE YRS AND GOING BECAUSE THE PUYALLUP TRASH REFUSE TO 'PAY' FOR WHAT THEY DO!
THE CHURCHES ARE SPIRITUALLY DEAD AND FOLLOW FALSE CONCEPTS OF GOD'S WORD. THEY ARE COMPLETE HIPOCRITES, AND REFUSE TO DEFEND THEIR BRETHEREN WHEN THE NEED ARISES. THEIR BELIEF IS TO MAINTAIN POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AT ALL COSTS.
THE MANAGERS IN PUYALLUP, APARTMENTS, ECT; BELIEVE THAT THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO ENTER ILLEGALLY, AND FORCE TENANTS TO LIVE UNDER THEIR TYRANNICAL ROLE-PLAYING. ALL THE APARTMENTS I HAVE LIVED IN ARE ALL LIKE THIS. I DIRECTLY CORRESPONDS TO THE 'TYPE' OF MENTALITY OF THE PEOPLE IN PUYALLUP.
ALL THE TEENAGERS HERE ARE ALL PREGNANT. THEY ARE ALL ON THE ROAD TO WELFARE AND HAVE NO HIGHER GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS OTHER THAN TO BE PREGNANT THE EARLIER THE BETTER!
THE BEST THEIR CHURCHES DO HERE, IS TO HAVE A LOCAL FOOD BANK TO GIVE FOLLOWER'S OF CHRIST ROTTEN OLD FOOD.
I HAVE BEEN FORCED INTO BANKRUPTCY THREE TIMES NOW DUE TO THE BUSINESS IN PUYALLUP SCREWING ME OVER. PLAN ON BEING FORCED TO SUE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LET EVERYONE AROUND PUYALLUP TREAD ON YOU. IT IS THE WORSE PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN. Read Less
