My Life in Potomac, MD 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 12, 2015) I live in Potomac, Maryland and I love it. There is always something fun to do. The summers can be a bit humid, but the winters are mild and never devastating. I moved here about 10 years ago so my children could have a great area to grow up in. I have never heard a complaint fro ...Read More m them about the area that we live in.Potomac has the seventh most top-educated students and schools in America and it has been ranked one of the safest cities on the east coast. I feel at ease knowing that my kids are being educate by some of the best and protected by some of the best. I have never felt as though I need to worry about my children, myself, or my possessions. I can't recall there ever being a break-in within my neighborhood.

Potomac, Maryland is also a amazing city for adults as well. There are many areas to work within the city, but businesses and offices in both Washington Dc and Baltimore are only a short commute away as well, though the highways do get backed up around rush hour. There are plenty of award winning restaurants with a wide range of choices and there is Potomac Village which has many different shops to suit anyone's fancy. If being outside is more your thing I highly recommend the numerous hiking trails around the border of the city. There are even great opportunities to raft or kayak down the Potomac river. Every October we celebrate "Potomac Day", in which the local community has a wonderful little party which includes crafts, food vendors, and even a parade. It is quite a marvelous day, unless we get rain, and everybody in my family loves it.
