Very mixed area

This area has some nice sections, but Wilkes is surrounded by areas that have very high crime and low income. There are a lot of car thefts in this area and have even been shootings not far away. Not far away there are homeless problems. The closest Safeway closed last year becau ...Read More
se of the problems and the closest Fred Meyer is known for problems (hence special police parking spots in their parking lot). There are no good restaurants anywhere near the area (unless you like sports bars and fast food). There are no Trader Joe or New Seasons or Whole Foods. You won't find the "niceties" here at all. Yes, there are bus stops, but none have shelters and if you want to go someplace like downtown, you will have to take at least 2 buses, depending on where you live in this area.
