about this rich history at several educational centers including The War of 1812 Museum and the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum.
The winters can be severe here, and the summers are gorgeous. The lake is so huge, there's always a pleasant breeze. Several parks line the lakes such as Point Au Roches State Park. The natural surroundings here are wonderful. If you love outdoor activities, you'll love Plattsburgh.
Additionally, Plattsburgh is near the Canadian border, the Adirondack region, the nation's 2nd largest nature preserve. It's also near Burlington, VT, also a wonderful culturally diverse city. If you like to be involved in community activities here, there are plenty of options, especially geared towards family and kids.
