Living in Pikesville might be a little more on the expensive side, but it's a good choice for people focused on their career. I say this because Pikesville doesn't necessarily have a lot of opportunities as far as recreation goes.

There are some choices as far as restaurants and the like go, but you may have to travel to a neighboring city if you really want something that is high quality. As far as shopping goes, there are a number of department stores and grocery stores that you can choose from.
If you work in healthcare of finance, you'll be in luck. There are quite a few hospitals and financial companies in the area. Overall, the city is good if you choose to focus on your career and don't mind traveling a bit to a different city for recreation or activities.
