Pikesville: A Reasonably Expensive Small City 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in Pikesville might be a little more on the expensive side, but it's a good choice for people focused on their career. I say this because Pikesville doesn't necessarily have a lot of opportunities as far as recreation goes.

Living in Maryland, in general, can be expensive

There are some choices as far as restaurants and the like go, but you may have to travel to a neighboring city if you really want something that is high quality. As far as shopping goes, there are a number of department stores and grocery stores that you can choose from.

If you work in healthcare of finance, you'll be in luck. There are quite a few hospitals and financial companies in the area. Overall, the city is good if you choose to focus on your career and don't mind traveling a bit to a different city for recreation or activities. Read Less
