I had high hopes when moving to AZ. After buying a home in Laveen I soon regretted it. My neighbors often posted about young adults kicking their front door down armed with a firearm. Once the 202 opened we hoped it would improve and from my experience it did not help. We were lu ...Read More

Laveen is changing rapidly thanks to the new 202 freeway. We have lived here 16 years and have seen many changes. The schools are improving. Vista Del Sur Traditional is one of the best schools in the state. We also have access to many other schools (public, charter and priva ...Read More
te) in the valley. We will soon have a new CCV Church and we are getting lots of commercial business. TJ Maxx and Michaels just opened and soon we will have a new Harkins, Olive Garden, Aldi and more. My neighbors are very friendly and we live in a quiet neighborhood. There are quite a few custom homes on acreage in Laveen. And tons of new homes. There are no apartments in Laveen which we like. We need more parks and a community center. They plan to build a community center at Cesar Chavez Park. Can't wait for more!! We also like that there are tons of sports clubs available to youth in Laveen. Youth sports help to build a community atmosphere. Come to Laveen and make it a nice place for your family.

You would have to be insane to pay over $230k for ANYTHING in Laveen (47 mile area within South Phoenix) w/out acreage. First, this was known gang territory for decades. There was an attempt to develop this area pre-crash, however, post-crash virtually all homes down here were tu ...Read More
rned into Section 8 and/or low-cost rentals. Unethical investors & realtors are driving the inflated prices due to influx from people fleeing California & it's not sustainable. The people from Cali buying down here are moving out pretty quickly after move-in. The criminal element has never left. Pull crime stats report from Phoenix Police. Many areas originally slotted for re-development haven't been touched & are drowning in crime & drugs. Laveen schools are some of the worst for Arizona. Laveen continues to be a dangerous place; the crime simply persists in Laveen & this area is ripe for a housing market correction. Save yourself...look in Goodyear/Litchfield for the West Valley, Anthem for Phoenix proper, or Gilbert/Mesa East Valley for comparable pricing but much safer places for you and/or your family.
