I lived in Encanto, Phoenix for several years during my days of being a young professional in a decently large city. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Encanto and found that it sufficiently met my needs and desires for the amount of time that I resided there. With very few downside ...Read More
s of the area, it is adequately supplied with all of the elements that make a city liveable.
Phoenix is a generally diverse place, and the neighborhood of Encanto is no exception. The hispanic and white population are pretty much equal with a sprinkling of many different cultures mixed in. Though there is crime and it does sometimes become a slight problem, it is nothing different than you would expect of another city of similar size.
Sunny year round, Phoenix is a mecca for lovers of the heat. Expect sun about 320 days out of the year. Though it may get quite toasty during the summers, the arid air makes the heat generally bearable. And, the desert climate remains moderate throughout the winter months which is a huge bonus.
Though the city of Phoenix isn't known for its overall beauty, probably due to the arid climate that makes it difficult to grow things, Encanto is probably the nicest looking part of the city and it neighborhood boasts multiple parks, green spaces, and areas suitable for recreation.
The heavy hispanic influence is apparent in the food and amenities that are abundant in the area. Many of the best and most popular restaurants feature food from Latin American countries, and most of it is authentic and quite tasty. Though Encanto doesn't have the highest concentration of restaurants in the city. It is adequately supplied with the same typical mix of food places that exist in the city.
Though Phoenix's nightlife isn't as vibrant as other cities of similar size, it still provides a decent number of venues where people can go to experience some great nightlife. The lack of diversity doesn't diminish the overall quality of venues that are available. Take for instance Postino WineCafe, one of my favorite hangouts in the city. Featuring delicious wines and top notch food, this singular location is the kind of place that makes Phoenix cool. Besides a few unique places like this, Encanto offers the stock lounges, bars, and clubs that you would expect of any decent city.
