The New and Improved Oxon Hill 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) The best thing about living in Oxon Hill is being right off of the Capital Beltway. This major highway surrounds Washington, D.C. and runs through Maryland and Virginia. This makes commuting to areas like downtown D.C. and Alexandria, VA a breeze. Another big plus about living in ...Read More Oxon Hill is the National Harbour, which is a huge development of shops, hotels, and restaurants. There's a convention center and casino there as well.

Living in Oxon Hill has its pros and cons. You can find inexpensive housing, but it's usually in undesirable areas. There's a lot of garden style apartments and single family homes, but prices have increased since the Harbour was built. There are some fairly decent schools in the area for families with children. The crime rate has been an issue in the past, but it's being addressed more aggressively.

The part of town where the National Harbour is situated, has become one of the best areas in Oxon Hill. It's one of the new hotspots and there's always some event or convention taking place. This has also boosted employment opportunities in the area. Read Less
