A Mixed Bag User Rating 3.5 rating By FrasierID ( Nov 20, 2019) Oxford is a lovely, charming small city, unfortunately located in the mostly depressing Mississippi Delta region. A truly surprising number of good restaurants, wildly over-priced shopping options, a great bookstore, lovely homes and a pretty university campus, Ole Miss, in the m ...Read More iddle of it all. The culture is odd in that there is a high premium placed on maintaining an image of wealth and some version of "sophistication" in the middle of some mostly really poor, really sad counties surrounding it. You'll probably really like it, but you'll also probably be ready to leave after that. Like I said, a mixed bag. Read Less
Oxford And Southern Charm User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) I love living in Oxford, Mississippi. I am a native and although I moved off several times I always come back to my roots. The city is easy to learn because you can get anywhere from Jackson Avenue, University Avenue, North and South Lamar. We have shuttle buses and taxi services ...Read More if you don't want to drive. The weather is great and Sardis, Enid, and Grenada lake are all close enough to enjoy.

We have a very diverse population because we are home to The University Of Mississippi. The Grove is where everybody hangs out to tailgate during football games and trust me we love our SEC football here!

The Square is home to the beautiful old courthouse and plenty of good restaurants. William Faulkner sits on the bench by City Hall people watching. We have so many great local places to eat like Ajax Diner, Neon Pig, and City Grocery. I don't know of any type of cuisine that's not available. Read Less
