Problems Dealing with City Of Orting over Water bills 0.5 rating By ConcernedCitizen ( Nov 17, 2015) To Margaret at the City of Orting Water, I had an issue with you months ago when I had a family emergency which caused me to forget to pay the water bill. I wasn't aware of it until you were about to shut it off after the payment being late a very short time. You wanted cash & w ...Read More ould not allow me until the next day to get the bank machine to get cash and you were about to close. I was blocks away when I found this out and dropped off a partial payment with the intentions of coming back inmediately after getting more. I dropped that by to show faith that I was serious and was trying. When I came in, I handed it to the woman available and she told you from across the room at which point you yelled " I told her she needed it ALL!!!!" At which time I explained myself with no apology from you and I left to get the rest. When I came back you were very rude and I explained what had happened. You said " Well, we didn't know."

I said "Well, you know what? That's the problem. You never take the time to LISTEN to customers and make a decision on a case by case basis. Instead, you JUDGE and are RUDE. What kind of customer service IS that?" Is the City that desperate that they need someone like her treating people the way she does? I say this because there are MANY with terrible stories of their interaction with you.

I personally was even attacked on FACEBOOK in this group about it when I made a post! You people down there are unbelievable!!

Today, a VERY good friend of mine was treated in the most DISRESPECTFUL way and I am LIVID.

Mayra Garcia has not had water for her family since last week. I only just found out and she was to embarrassed to ask for help. The food bank said you could help her. She called and you called back and LEFT A VOICEMAIL, you FORGOT to hang up the phone and she has an long MESSAGE of you talking to another employee, Becky, I believe, talking *** about Mayra. Saying " I wonder how she pays her other bills and gets through month to month if she can't pay her water!! She has had people come in and pay for her before" You then went ON for MINUTES!!

I wonder if ANY part of your soul feels ANYTHING after Mayra called and politely asked "Do you want to know why I can't pay my water?" And her response to your YES was....
" I had to stop working because my pregnancy was at risk, my dad has had multiple strokes, my grandma just passed away and on top I have CANCER! After having my baby I went back to work two wks after having her and when my grandma passed away I worked for a month and a half two jobs and we barely make enought to cover rent, electricty, food , and daycare."

Her response? " Oh. We didn't know."

That is the problem! You need to be RESCPECTFUL REGARDLESS!!!

You to me are a disgrace. It is all I can do to keep from coming down there and giving you my two cents. I am APPALLED at the way you handle yourself and the way you treat others.

I wish I had the money to go down and pay Mayra's water bill MYSELF because I would LOVE to personally hand you that money. What is WRONG with you? Why do you have such a BITTER attitude and not an OUNCE of warmth for people?

Just BLOWN AWAY at how HEARTLESS and SELFISH people are.

Since my original post, I also posted on the City Of Orting (Under Construction page ) yesterday and today, the entire page has been deleted. The post in our Orting facebook group will remain. We have had COUNTLESS citizens comment about their terrible experiences with Margaret. When are you going to do something? Read Less
